Stayed at the hotel the weekend of December 12, 2009 (a little birthday gift for myself). Although the hotel itself was beautiful and I quite enjoyed the Christmas decor, I was disappointed in my room. I stayed in a king size room with a king size bed. The furniture was outdated and needed to be updated. One sitting chair almost went to the floor when I sat in it (and I'm not a huge person). The other chair was so hard, it was by no means comfortable. Most of all, although the bed was a king, it was hard, very low to the floor and not comfortable to sleep in. Although this was a disappointment to someone that had longed to stay in this hotel for some time, I will try it again....maybe I just got a bad room.

We had such a great time at The Adolphus we are considering going back to Dallas just to stay there. Food, service and room were excellant. Staff, from concierge to doorman, are as good as it gets.

We booked a King room 2 weeks ahead of our stay. We were never informed that rooms are doled out on a first come first serve basis (otherwise we could have checked in earlier). We arrived at the hotel at 6pm on 12/31/07. We were told they were completely out of King rooms. My husband is 6'2" and is not comfortable on a small full size bed (which is what we got). We were further disappointed with the quality of the room. All the furnishings and fixtures were old and dingy.
We were told check-out would be at 1pm the next day. However, we were awakened to housekeeping knocking on our door at 9am (keep in mind we had been out very late for New Year's Eve). Then at 10am we heard housekeeping trying to come into the room. Luckily we had the bolt locked. And once again at 11am as we were getting ready to leave, housekeeping came knocking again.
We have travelled alot and never specificaly reserved a King room that we didn't get a King room, nor have we ever had housekeeping knocking on our door prior to check-out. We will not be staying at this hotel again nor would we recommend it to anyone. -

My stay was a great time. Everyone was very helpful and the history of the hotel was something I found very interesting. My favorite place was the Rodeo Bar Down stairs. Such a great atmosphere, you can get comfortable even in such a fancy hotel. The service there was fantastic and the
Bar Tender was the best!! thanks to all of you!
